March 2005 Edition

MlleDinkley Asks: Do you really think that that Dove shampoo does anything for your hair, and would you ever change your style?

Velma:  Oh it does something alright, but remember the makeover show? Somehow, I feel more comfortable being my old self!

ski Writes: I think Velma is cute and very smart and her character is in the Movie and Cartoon, Scooby is cute too. Plus, my name is Velma. Plus I am a mother of three children and they like Scooby Doo as well. They are in their Twenties and Thirties. Scooby Dooby Doo where are you!!!

Velma: Thanks! I kind-of like the name myself!

toon man Writes: I have been a fan for the start. Saturday mornings on CBS. I know you guys are just trying to help out. But once I heared shaggy say to Fred. Fred I don't know what you kids would do with out me and scobby. But for once I wish you'd be willing to try. Has shaggy and Fred ever have a really huge fight? And have you ever thought that shaggy was right. We should have just minded our own things. Will you ever marry shaggy? I think you would make a nice couple. Well that's it for me. Take care Sincerly Eric

Velma: Glad you're a big fan, no big fights.. Which brings me to the question that knocked me off my chair! - Shaggy and I are a great couple and should get married? Jinkies! Where did that come from? Shaggy's a great friend, but I think some of his traits would collide with my traits!

mysterymaster Writes: Hi Velma, I hope this is not too much of a personal question. How did your date with Patrick go, are you in a relationship? Also where you drunk when you sang "cant take my eyes off of you" in Scooby Doo the movie?

Velma:  Ahhhh... it went. No relationship other then good friends. I can't say I have ever intentionally gotten drunk, but that drink may have been spiked.

esmeralda Asks: hey.. they call me velma .. because i look like her.... how can i make them stop.. calling me velma..??

Velma: Everyone wants to be themselves, so if someone tells you that you are someone else, it takes away from who you are. From that perspective, I understand what you are saying. I would not say anything as this only encourages the behavior.  Good luck, and I am sure this will fade.

jreb Writes: Hi Velma congratulations on solving the "Mystery Of Beautiful Hair"! Question is do you feel that Gibby and or Verona could [or have] become your arch-villains? Or they could team up to come after you? I don't know about you but I would worry about that. Welcome Back Velma-yours Jreb

Velma: It's good to be back! I would not say they are arch villains. I think Gibby has a crush on me and he does these things to try to get my attention. Verona  is a different story. I am not worried about them getting together as I believe she is too snobbish to allow Gibby in her life.

Kim Writes: How come you and Freddie are not in some of the episodes? Some just have Shaggy, Scooby and Daphne

Velma: Bad subject! There were certain other factors that Scrapped my involvement for awhile. Fred's opinion is along the lines of my own on that topic.

Tank Writes: Have Shaggy and Scooby Ever solved the Mystery?

Velma: Ahhh... They must have, but I am hard pressed to remember which one... Sometimes, out of the blue, they come up with some crazy ideas that turn out to be right on the money and they sure have helped solve many in their own unique way!

OB-1 Asks: Where does the name Scooby doo originate from or is a euphemism?

Velma: No, you can blame Fred Silverman for that, he got the idea for the name while listening to the song "Strangers in the Night."

Nickle98499 Writes: Hi Velma, this is kind of a two-part question. I noticed on last Saturday's episode of WNSD you said that you like hockey. Part one of the question is do you really like hockey? and part two is if you do like hockey what's your favorite NHL team?

Velma: Yes, I am a big Hockey fan, but if I were to tell you my favorite hockey team, I would probably get clobbered with a hockey stick!

Angela Asks: How many total scooby-doo episodes have there been ever made?

Velma: We have done so many! I am going to defer this question to my good friend Christine, and her website called
"Scooby Doo, We Love You! "
