Kenney asks: Velma, are you still going out with
any of your leading men from the movies? Any steady dating?
Velma: I must admit that these films have done
wonders for my social life, but my first love is that of the mystery! I
have not found Mr. Right yet.
SIPA asks: I have a problem and I
thought maybe you could help me. I am from Estonia and Scooby Doo
has been my favorite character for years. Cartoon Network was showing
Scooby Doo all the week, it was The Scooby Week! But I am very
disappointed about that, because they had advertised that we could see ALL our
beloved episodes and movies. But they only showed a few. COULD YOU PLEASE GIVE
ME THE e-mail address of Cartoon Network or some other information how
to contact?
Velma: The Cartoon Network does not
provide a public Email address, however if you go to their website
and click the Help button, there is a feedback form you can use to
email them. As for your favorite shows, Jinkies! We did over 300! Here's
some news: The New Scooby Movies is coming out on DVD in the USA in March,
and I believe in April or May in Europe. Order the video through an
online retailer from England or some other EU country. That way, you can
at least purchase the video even if your local store doesn't carry it.
Kim05
asks: Why not get contacts?
Velma: Unlike Daphne, I usually don't carry a
purse, so I would not have a place to stash the supplies. When you wear
contacts, it is very important that they are kept clean. We work in some
pretty unclean environments! Also, when woken out of a sound sleep by a ghoulish
scream, time is important! I can get my glasses
on and get going in under .5 seconds! (I've timed myself!)

Amy-bekks writes: Congrats On the movie seen it 1,000s of times it's never boring ;)
Velma: Why thank you Amy!
Stasi writes: I have a few questions for you. You are so cool! Why aren't you popular like Daphne??? You're pretty. Why don't
people say so??? It's been snowing a lot here. It's snowing right now. Is it snowing there??? I have a HUGE house because I |
|
have another sister, my Mom, my Dad, and me. We all sleep in different rooms except my Mom and Dad. We have guest
bedroom too. We might be getting a dog(s). Do you have a big or a HUGE
house??? I live in little old New Jersey. Where do you live??? do you have a crush on guys???
Okay, this is the last one... Which Scooby-Doo Movie do you like best??? and I mean the
realistic verson. please answer those questions as soon as possible. Oh.
Jinkies! I got to go. BYE- BYE!!!
Velma: Jinkies! Or as Fred would say, Jeepers! Or
as what's-her-name would have said, Jinkers! In any case that is one
long question! People like people for different reasons. Thank you for
the complements, and yes it does snow here! I'm more of a small
apartment dweller, here in my old home town of Coolsville. Yes, I've had
plenty of crushes on guys.. (blush) I liked Monsters Unleashed, because
it really caused us to have faith in each other.

Pinqu writes: Hi, Velma, it's me, Sipa a k a Pingu again!
I have a brief question... :) :)
Do you like the songs of ABBA, the famous pop-group of the seventies? Songs like The Winner Takes It All, The Name OF The Game, I Do I Do I Do I Do I
Do, Dansing Queen, I Belive In Angels, Summer Night City, Chiquitita, SOS, The
Way Old Friend do, Nina- Bretty Balerina, Gimme Gimme Gimme, Honey Honey etc...?
Velma: I think this was asked once before, but
the answer is yes. I like most music, as long as it is catchy and has
some intelligence behind it.
Balee Asks: Even though you're a brainy girl, did you ever consider putting the mystery solving aside and join a band? I was intrigued when I saw you guys
perform in "Legend Of The Vampire". You were pretty cool, so do you ever have thoughts of joining a punk/rock band? Thanks and you're my role model!
Velma: Well, you are welcome! Like many, I enjoy
singing and part of me would want to do that! The problem arises in that
I would have to give up Mysteries Inc., and I love mysteries even more!
I have many interests and would like to get the opportunity to try many
of them out, but life always calls me back to the mysteries.

shortgypsy Asks: Why don't you believe in ghosts even though you have met real ones before?
Velma: Belief is a subjective condition. It is
not that my mind is closed to the idea, I have just found out over time
that in most cases, there is a logical non-supernatural explanation to
most of our mysteries!

linblondeqt Asks: Who came up with scooby-doo?
Velma: Good Question! Here's the answer-
Fred Silverman was working on a new cartoon series about four
teens and their dog called Mysteries Five. Scooby's original name
was "Too Much." T.M. was going to be a tag along,
not the center of the show. Fred was having problems selling the
show to the network. Then one night, her heard the Frank Sinatra
song "Strangers in the night", in which Frank improvised some
lyrics- "Scooby Dooby Doo (etc.)" Fred decided to rename
T.M. and call him and the series "Scooby Doo", and the
rest as they say is history! Here's
the whole story and some pictures of what things may have
looked like!

Nickle98499 Asks: Hi Velma, I was just wondering what is your favorite reality show on
TV? My favorites are Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and American Idol.
Velma: Wow, my life is too real as it is, so I
don't watch many. I am more the type that watches "Forensic
Files" on the Discovery or TLC channels.
HaleyRich Writes: My question is that your bio said your ambition is to get
into MENSA. I just wanted to know what the heck MENSA is. So, What is it? My
second question is what do you like best about Fred, Daphne, Scooby ,and
Shaggy? #3, Why doesn't Shaggy have an ambition? He must have something that he
wants! Well, I have to go. Thanks!
Velma: MENSA
is an organization of people who score in the top 2% with regards
to IQ. Click on the name for more than you would ever want to know
about it! As for what I like best about the rest of the gang- They
are fun to work with! As for Shaggy, he does have ambition,
ambition to eat, that is!
