jreb writes: Hey there Velma! You seem to be the poster girl for myopia. [that's ok I'm the poster boy] But there is one thing that I find kinda strange, that is why do you sleep with your glasses on? Ok I've fallen asleep with a book [I'm sure you have too] in bed, but you seem to do this on purpose. Ok I know you have a good reason for this-you have a good reason for doing anything! Hope you like the action figure had fun making it. Guess I'm A fan-take care darlin'.

Velma:  I can't say that I do it on purpose, it happens. Often, I try to wait until the very last second before taking them off, and sometimes that second slips by and is gone. When you are in a spooky place, you tend to want to keep them very close, as in on, and I have been known to try to "carefully" fall asleep with them on. However, I do not recommend it!

crystal writes: Hi Velma! Do you know where i can get a pup named scoobydoo episodes? What your fav episode of a pup named scoobydoo? Have you ever ate a scooby snack? I maked some scooby snacks and thay taste realy good. Thanks for your time.

Velma: As far as I know, no tapes have been released for sale from "A Pup." I don't really have a favorite, and no, I have never eaten a Scooby snack! Shaggy has though....

Kim writes: I know you have a lot of people who tell you that they look like you, but I really do! I'm 14 and my glasses have gotten so thick, I can't see a thing without them! My question has to do with my vision. My parents tell me that my eyes are so bad from always holding everything so close, but I think I got into that habit because I couldn't see things. I'm starting to feel guilty. Are they right?

Velma: Don't feel guilty. Sometimes nearsightedness progresses for a while, and there's no scientific evidence that there is anything you can do to make it worse or better. I would tend to think that you held things close to see them better.  As for looking at me, Congrats!

candy writes: Hi, Velma couple questions:
1.do you think Daphne is a good friend in the movie? Yes
2.do you like your part in the movie? Yes
3.do you think scooby is cute? Yes
4.does scooby like wearing clothes? Yes, I think..
5.does scooby like taking baths? No
6. Do you like scrappy? Who?
7.do you really like the color orange? Kind of
8. What is your favorite color? Answered elsewhere ;)
Comment you are a great actress! Thanks!

Lizzie writes: Dear Velma, I love you so much you've been my favorite forever and i wanted to know what day you were born, where you get your clothes, your favorite song, and where you get your haircut! My favorite song is either Scooby doo (techno remix), or World looking in. I LOVE YOU VELMA AND LINDA CARDELLINI! (how do you think she did in the movie? I think she captured you greatly!)

Velma: Wow, a lot of questions!  I was born sometime in May, but I don't like to give my birth date out. There is not one specific store I buy at, whoever has the best sales and what I want is where I buy. I actually have many favorite songs, as I have said before. Some songs just stick with me (like Smash Mouth.) I Think Linda did a great job!

OR writes: Velma, what are your feelings for Shaggy? Did you know, you`re as pretty as Daphne? Is your gang a group of detectives or just the groovy kids who stumble in different adventures?

Velma: I like Shaggy, but not in that way. Thanks for the complement! As for the last question, I think the answer would be both!

PowerDaph writes:  Hey Velma again! I just saw an episode of 'Scooby Doo Show' and in that show yu told Shaggy that if there's one thing you hated, it was a coward. Vel, you knew Shaggy all your whole life, you KNEW he was a coward! I mean, that couldn't have meant you hated Shaggy! Isn't he one of your best pals? I mean, if you didn't know he was a coward by NOW.. why did you say such a thing? That really doesn't sound like the Velma I know.

Velma: Sometimes I end up playing the role of mom for Shaggy. He's a great guy, but often requires a little prodding to show his better side. It's in there, and anyone who has followed us knows that Shaggy is not really a coward, he just likes to act like one!  Of course, sometimes we all do!

amy-bekks writes: Dear Velma, When you were in your last year of elementary school, like me did you have exams to determine what groups you were going to be in and did you get nervous because I am and its 5 mouths away plus to make things worse I had an internal examiner come in to school today and I nearly had my math paper torn up as I kept on coughing but I was lucky. That's all for now!

Velma: Never a shortage of exams when you go to school! Things are different from country to country, but one thing remains the same: Exams are done to provide you with feedback about how you are doing! Sure, parents and teachers are always putting pressure on you to do great, but it is more important for you to learn then to pass a specific test!  Let me see if I can provide a better example. I had a friend I knew that always got very good grades, but she was far more interested in figuring out how to pass a test then on learning what they were trying to teach her. In effect, she became a professional test-passer!  She did not do well after school because she had never really learned anything. Trying your best is the most important part. Study hard and give it your best, grades are important, just don't limit yourself to getting good at passing tests!

dipdop writes: Dear Velma, My name is Emma and I live in Exmouth in England. I would like to know How did you do on your exams Because I and my class have to have them all week long. It doesn't help the fact it is only Tuesday and we are already bored of them.

Velma: I did ok!  I am sure by now they are over and you did fine. They can and do get boring! (Read above for more!)

Honnybunny writes: Hi Velma! I am your BIGGEST FAN!!! You are so smart, and when solving a mystery you never fool around. You are great! I wanted to know, where did you get your glasses, and did you have any best friends in high school besides Fred, Daphne, Shaggy, and Scooby? Because if you didn't, I would be your best friend!

Velma: Thank you! I usually get my glasses directly from my optician, although that is getting a little pricey! I may try Cosco or Walmart next time. As for friends, you never have too many!

Honnybunny writes: Hi Velma! Its me again! I forgot to mention that I am 10 years old, and I saw the Scooby Doo movie a ton of times.

Stasi writes: Hi! Velma! It is Stasi. Do you have any animals? 'Cause we do. My cat's name is SAMMY! I am 7 years old. Tell Daphne that I am her biggest fan! Daphne's biggest fan of course. Do you watch Football? I like Football. I am a girl of course. Do you still have your tree up from Christmas? We do! Do you like Easter? I do.

Velma:  Well, we have Scooby! I am not a huge football fan, but I have been known to watch. With this being the end of January, I just got around to taking the tree down ;) I do like Easter.

Lance writes: Velma, I am a real, real big fan of yours. I think you are so cool and I love the live action Scooby Doo movie. I wear glasses just like you, but when I lose them I can see-even though everything is blurry. My first question that I want to ask is: Who is your favorite character in Mystery Inc. other than yourself? I also want to ask: What was your favorite subject in school? My last question is: What was your favorite scene from the live action Scooby Doo movie? Thanks for taking your time to read this.

Velma: Always nice to hear from another glasses girl! Glad your vision is better then mine. Favorite character? I would be worried all the others would take offense. As strange as it sounds, I probablly relate to Shaggy the best. As for school, probably science. As for the scene, it was deleted! (A piano comes to mind.)

jal writes: Why can't I find any Velma party goods, toys or posters? They always have Daphne
but I like Velma.

Velma: Really?  Complain!  I want equal representation   ;)   !

Velma021 writes:  Hello Velma! Your my favorite character and I just wanted to know if someone really is getting decapitated in the second movie? If so, is Freddy Krouger (the elm street guy) in it because they say that he is?

Velma: Well, I hope it isn't me!   I have not heard either of these things, so don't believe it!

scooby hot chick writes: in the movie scooby doo what was the really hot guys name with the lead zeplin shirt his reall name would help......love stranger

Velma: Gee, I wish I could remember. I spoke to him, but never got his name.

Note: Nightshade tells us that his real name is Charles Cousins.

jreb writes:  Howdy Velma! I just picked issue #68 of the Scooby Doo comic book and found it to be one of the best Scooby stories I've ever read! I know a "fangirl" like yourself has probably already read it but you must admit the story by Robert Pope [this guy is a FAN] has all the key elements of a good Scooby story. IM also sure you would recommend any Scooby fan to stop by your local comic store and get a copy. By the way you do read your comic book-do you?

Velma: Oh dear, I hope I am not disappointing you, but I don't read too many comics, even ours! Shaggy is the big comic reader.

Bianca writes: Dear Velma and the gang, In the Scooby-Doo movie, I would like to know how they made the souls in the movie? When is your next movie?  Love, Bianca

Velma: Depends on what you are asking. How it came to be in the plot, or how the special effect was done. As for the special effect, we were filmed on a green screen, the images were then extracted, modified, then laid on the finished film all by computer.

Dana writes:  Was it fun working with other members on the movie? Was there a lot of special effects? and did any of you guys actually do your own stunts? If you can answer one I would be grateful.

Velma: How about all three!  It was fun, there were a lot of effects, and we even did some of them ourselves.

MEL writes: well its me again. i just want to ask some questions.
1.did you watch that movie "IT"? Yes
2.in s.d. the movie why did you go on the piano and sing? Heavens knows!
3.who's your favorite actor or actress? Linda Cardellini      ;)
4.what is your favorite mystery? Life!

well that's all. PEACE!
