Danielle asks: Do you like to be on the Scooby Doo shows? Are you really as smart as you are
because I think your pretty cool! by the way how's Scooby Doo, is he still cute?
Velma: Yes, Thank You, and Yes! I always liked doing the shows, and Scooby is still quite cute... and Big!
Mason asks: Hey Velma are there going to be any chase scenes in the live action
movie with some 60s and 70s songs?
Hey Velma do you know what Zoinks means?
Velma: Oh yea! The music may change a bit, but some things never change!
As for Zoinks... I think it is just a primal noise Shaggy makes when he is freaked out.
Lisa asks: Velma, I'm seeing a lot of pictures about a movie called "Ghost World"
Is that you? Do you guys have anything to do with this?
Velma: No, I am not the girl in the picture!
Even though the name of the movie has a ghost in it, we are not involved in this what-so-ever. From what I here, it was a comic book about the time we all go through after graduating school, but before life starts. I have not seen it.
Christy55 asks: Velma, I have a serious glasses question. I got glasses at age 11. I am now 16 and my nearsightedness gets worse every time I go! Nobody's telling me anything! Am I going
blind?
Velma: No! I often joke that soon after I learned to walk, I learned to walk into walls, but that's an exaggeration. I got my first glasses around age 5, but I was only mildly myopic (nearsighted.) It wasn't until I was in my teens that it really got bad. During those awkward growing years, many of us go through what you are going through! Don't worry though, this progression usually comes to a halt in the late teens or early twenties. Just make sure you keep checking in with your doc!
Haredi Writes: The kids watch Scooby every day and we noticed in some of the new episodes on Cartoon Network
that Fred and Velma were no longer there. What happened to them?
Velma: Er, new might be pushing it! Around 1974, a certain mutt showed up. Around that time Fred and I were dropped! Jinkies! These shows are still run in abundance (darn), so you will see them from time to time. As you may have noticed in the recent movies, We're back! (And the mutt is gone!)
Mason Writes: Hey Velma, do you know why you get split up with Scooby and Shaggy in the Scooby Doo where
are you! show?
Velma: I have my suspicions about that one *grin*
Hey Velma I called Rhythm and Hues and I asked them if the poster with the CGI Scooby was just a test or if it was their Scooby because other web sites said that Scooby was going to look like what he looks in the show.
Velma: As of today (7/22/01), CGI work has not begun on the movie. Therefore, any artwork, such as the poster (shown below a bit), is only some artist's guess. Stay tuned!
Matthew Writes: Hi Velma, I wanna
know which member of the gang was the nicest to you.
Velma They all have been nice! If I listed one and not the other, one would think the other had been mean to me which is not true. Shaggy and Scooby are the friendliest while Daphne and Freddy have been the most reliable. To me, both characteristics are important.
Amanda Writes: Hi, Velma! I have a few more questions for ya!
1.) During the "13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo" years, how did Daphne cope with living under one roof with Shaggy, Scooby, Flim Flam, and a certain puppy whom I think should remain nameless? Did she ever tell you guys about that? That would be scary - living in one house with a bunch of guys!
Velma She did not do too well. The guys weren't so bad, but that mutt can drive anyone nuts!
2.) What's your favorite place you and the gang have traveled to?
Velma Hawaii
3.) How's business at Dinkley's Mystery Book Shop?
Velma My cousin Sarah took it over when I went back with the gang. From what I hear, it's still around.
That's all my questions for now! Thanks for listening! Anyways, I've gotta run - bye! :)
Velma Your Welcome!
Amber Writes:
Have you seen the
live action movie yet? Because it sounds like it might end up like the typical
animation to live-action movies, if you have is it any good?
Velma I haven't reviewed the footage, but John has. Click here for his review! It sounds good.
Christine
writes: What Kind of Doag is Scooby-Doo?
Velma Great Dane. Shaggy got him as an abandon pup because he wouldn't make a good show dog. Their loss!
C.
A. writes: Velma, the next time you see Shaggy could you ask him to try to
get Scooby off chocolate?
According to the Dog Owner's HOME Veterinary Handbook by Delbert G. Carlson, D.V.M., and James M Griffin, M.D. Chocolate contains a caffeine like alkaloid called theobromine. While not toxic to people in the amounts present in commercial foods, theobromine in these amounts can be quite harmful to the dog. Signs of chocolate toxicity occur within hours after the dog ingests the chocolate. They include vomiting, diarrhea, increased heart rate, rapid breathing, muscle tremors, seizures and coma. A small dog weighing 5 to 10 pounds can die after eating 4 to 16 ounces of milk chocolate. Baking chocolate contains a higher concentration of theobromine.
Velma Sounds like good advice to me!
Ellie
writes: Velma, if you've got your own web page does the rest of the gang
have there own web page if so could you send them to me!
Velma Not all of them. Daphne has several fan pages. A good place to start would be The Real Scooby Web Ring
How many shows is there of Scooby Doo not the videos but the actual series of them? How many videos of Scooby Doo? Please could you name them for me!
Velma There is a site called "Scooby Doo, We Love You!" Check it out on the web ring, it has every show we ever did!
